For over seventy years, Crestan has applied the fundamental principles of the art of furniture-making: the techniques is tradition where knowledge of the wood, the real solid wood of walnut, and great dexterity create original pieces of high quality furniture which due to their characteristics can furnish many different houses, including modern ones. The furniture we produce is linked to different periods in the history of furniture and is the result of artisan creativity which can be said to be almost an art.
In the Luigi Filippo collection, it is the attention to detail that makes the difference: the drawers are still all made with dove-tailed joints, the original rod locks all completely hide away for the perfect closing of the drawers, the insides of the backs and drawers are covered in fabric, the screws are single-slotted, like in the previous century, and all the furniture and backs (thinkness: 1,5 cm) are planed by expert hands. A last but very important detail: the finisching of the furniture is performed by hand with thirteen different coats accorting to tradition with natural water dyes, shellac and bees-wax.
